Rules and Introductory Tutorial

Rules

You may only sign up for one account. Only one account is permitted per household. This means that your brother, sister, mother, dog, or cousin cannot also have an account if they live with you. If you are found to be violating this rule, all of your accounts will be deleted.

You may delete your account and start a new one on a different team if you wish, but you must start that new account fresh. When you choose to delete an account, you are choosing to give up everything that you have earned in order to completely start over.

This is a beta and things will and do change often. Bitching is prohibited but moaning is ok. Please direct your comments to the Forum.

Because this is a beta, bugs are occasionally found. If you find a bug please report it in the forum so that it can be fixed. If you find a bug and exploit it to gain an advantage for yourself your account will be deleted. The game is not fun when someone cheats.

Avoid using the 'Back' button on your browser. Use the navigation buttons on the right side of the screen, things will work better for you using that method. Using the 'back' button can have negative effects on you, particularly when you are making financial transactions (such as in a marketplace).

Any unethical conduct, as defined by the admins, will result in warnings, deletion of your account, and/or banning from the server at the admins' discretion. If you do not know if something is unethical, use your best judgement and ask yourself if you would mind if all of the players in the game were to do the same thing. In the end, this game is kept clean and cheat-free by the hard work of the admins, and we will be merciless if you make that job difficult.

Introductory Tutorial

This brief introduction is intended to get you up and running in the game quickly by providing you with a quick overview of what the buttons do. For more detail, it is highly recommended that you read the Instructions. If you want to go directly to the game click on the main logo at the top of this page.

In War of Nations you are in control of two entities. Your Army and your Merchants. Each of these entities can move around on the map and interact with Territories and other players in certain ways. Below is a key to what each of the buttons in the game does.

Army

This button leads to your Army Headquarters. Here you can view the details on your Army (its composition and location) and move it around the map, attack enemies, spy on foreign Territories, and enter marketplaces where you can buy and sell Trade Goods that your Army may be carrying. It is also a general information page where you can see the status of your Officers, oversee your Territories, and get information on the Territory that your Army is currently located in.

Merchants

The Merchants button leads to the Headquarters of your Merchants. You can think of your Merchants as your own personal caravan or merchant fleet. This page allows you to move your Merchants around on the map and enter marketplaces where you can buy and sell Trade Goods that your Merchants may be carrying.

Recruitment

This button takes you to a page where you can hire additional soldiers for your Army.

BattleHistory

Your Battle History contains a listing of the battles in which you have participated over the past week. It includes not only battles that your Army has fought, but also includes battles that have been waged by your defensive garrisons in the Territories that you own.

Territories

This button displays a listing and map of all of the Territories that you own. From here you can add troops to the defensive garrisons of your Territories.

This takes you to a screen that displays information about them. On THAT screen, again click on their name and you will be able to compose a message and send it to them.

The forum includes areas for general discussion, posting of suggestions to improve the game, posting of any bugs or errors you encounter, and special areas for each Nation to coordinate and make plans. The forum is separate from the game, and you will have to register there in order to have access to the special bulletin board for your Nation. While not required, it is recommended that you check this out!
